Courage and Confidence is half the battle

It is a simple fact that approaching the opposite sex can be an uncomfortable situation, regardless of the atmosphere. Men, more often than women, are the deciding factor of whether or not a conversation can begin. Not to say some women do not approach men, but most women may hint that they may be interested from a distance and wait for the man to approach them.
When a good looking woman enters a room, party, club, etc, men and women notice. Men and women check her out, but usually for different reasons. I have chosen to omit the things going through men's minds at this point.
Every man has been in this situation before. Some have a game plan already mastered and ready to put in to action. Most will remain alone or among their friends, occasionally glancing at this woman, thinking of what they would say, but never approach her. THIS IS THE BIG MISTAKE!!!! As soon as a man sees a woman he finds attractive and wishes to speak with, this is the moment of truth. Within five to ten seconds of seeing her, negative outcomes of rejection quickly overpower the possibility of successfully engaging in a conversation in a man's mind. What's the solution? Well, if you are one of these men who cowers off to the side, hoping that this woman will approach you, which we all know the likely hood of that not happening, approach her immediately. Regardless of how attractive you find yourself, or your current self-esteem level, approach her before you get scared. Show her some confidence! From the time it takes you to walk from where you are to where she is there is no reason why you should not have a conversation starter in your head. As you approach this woman, take a look at your surroundings for something to start a conversation with. It could be the music, the food, the crowd, the weather that day, anything, just make it neutral and not about her or you. You don't want to compliment her with the first thing you say, that's ass kissing, and no woman respects that.
Let’s say the setting is a nightclub. You've caught a glimpse of a good looking girl around the bar. Without even thinking about it, begin walking over towards the bar. Everyone gets a kick out of the wacky dancer who obviously has had too much to drink or just needs a few dancing lessons. Stand near her as if you too are just trying to get a drink and start up the conversation with something like, "You see that guy tarring it up over there, I wish I could dance like that," in a jokingly friendly tone. If she glances and laughs, great! you’re a step ahead. If she glances but doesn't laugh, who cares, you already began speaking to this girl, congratulations! A simple introduction is a good follow-up. We all know how to do it, and because of that, it makes it the most comfortable way to begin getting in to a conversation. "I'm _______, what's your name?" and extend your hand. Many men disagree but ask any woman and you will hear otherwise; women can not stand being given a limp fish to shake hands with. Give her a firm but gentle hand shake. This will show confidence, strength, and that you do not consider her as a part of "the weaker sex," which in this day in age, is a big deal. DO NOT offer to buy her a drink right off the bat. Hookers are paid for their time and services, why pay for the time of someone you just met? If she seems interested, great, continue with some small talk and eventually ask her to dance. If you are not a good dancer, then you may want to rethink your opening line or try another alternative. If you are with some friends who have a table, who will not embarrass you, invite her to join you. If she is with friends, she may invite you to join them. A fun thing to do is have your friends and her friends meet and possibly get one bigger table. She may be content with continuing your conversation at the bar, in which case, it is fine to offer to refill her drink or buy her a drink. If when you introduce yourself she does not seem interested in talking to you, that’s fine. Simply take your drink, as not to look like you just came over to chat, and walk away with a "nice meeting you (repeat her name if she gave it to you)." Not every girl will respond the way you want her to and a large majority of women are with someone or just not interested in meeting someone this early in the night. You have left a mark and she knows that you know when to stop. This can benefit you if you run in to her later when she may be interested.
